Check out big city thunder, their monster baffles really numbed the high pitched sound of my VH short shots. They also offer quiet baffles at BCT.
or you could get the vh quiet baffles.

Shame, since the V&H pipes may be a bit loud for my tastes. But changing them to slip ons will require finding original header pipes. Oh well, so it goes when one buys used.
You're not going to get much difference in noise level by switching to slip ons . Unless , you go to the new style Screamin' Eagles .
BTW...Very nice bike !
These things are WAYYYY louder than the 1.75" Rush slip ons I had on my 04 FLTHI, and bunches louder than my S/Os 2000 Lowrider, which I think has SE pipes. I am thinking about SE pipes - or might go OEM stock!
I'm a quiet kinda guy - my 09 FLHTC still has the stock pipes and will probably stay that way the rest of her life. When I changed the 04 to Rush 3 years after I bought it I regretted it the rest of the time I owned that bike.

Thanks, Hickey. I'll look into these. Bike was supposedly dyno'd after getting the pipes but blows some black smoke when started indicating a rich condition and poor tune. So far I've ridden her a total of maybe 1/4 mile so I need to let things warm up and get a good ride to understand the tune. Stock a/c cover but I haven't opened it up to see if they even changed filters.
Just brought her home. 6000 miles, great shape - couple of little "garage scratches" and two small tears in the saddle but nothing I can't live with for now. For $8500 including tax, tag, title I'm pretty happy.
Seller claims the paint is a Harley factory custom. Can anyone confirm that? On the right side of the tank there's a small "DCC" vertically etched into one of the flames. Looks to me like it was a cut out in the template through which the paint was shot, but just a guess. And wth would DCC stand for?
DCC most likely are the initals of the person who did the Pin Stripes / Flames or the painter if it's been painted again , like any other Artist they like to autograph their work ...

Yeah, I thought of that. Most artists tend to initial or use a symbol. These are block style letters arranged vertically. Just seems a bit odd, though you may well be right.
Thanks. Shortshots from what I see comparing them to the V&H site. Guess I don't yet have any pics of the right side of the bike. Pipes end about where the top shock mount is.
