Just bought my wife a 2010 SG Custom two weeks ago. Could have done better on the price but had a Sportster to trade on the MSRP promo. Could probably get a SG Custom for close to MSRP OTD right now, Wide glides probably not-dealers seem to think certain models are like gold and won't discount as much. Also it's a bit more for the Wide Glide and I don't see why. SG Custom probably the best HD for the money right now but that's just my opinion

Greetings,

I seriously considered a Super Glide Custom before buying my Wide Glide, but I didn't like feeling like I was sitting on top of the bike. So, I went with the Wide Glide. Probably because all my previous bikes had been Softails...So far no complaints (other than the rear fender) about my bike.

Traded in my 2007 Street Bob for my 2010 Wide Glide. The Wide Glide is the better choice if you dont want to do a lot of upgrades. The Street Bob comes with mid controls vs forward on the Wide Glide. The Street Bob does not come with passenger pegs or passenger pillion while the Wide Glide does. I also like the amount of chrome on the Wide Glide, but some dont. Handling would have to go to th Street Bob, the front tire on the
Wide Glide is a little narrow. Good choice for either, but the Wide Glide is now a very controversional model.

I just got a 10 FXDC I love chrome and black so it was a easy choice for me. To much black just looks, well, like to much. Same with chrome. I felt the C Model fits perfectly in the middle with lots of chrome and black.
You need to get the one that YOU like the best.

Test ride both and you decide. To me The Super Glide Custom has the most bang for the buck. The bucks you save getting the FXDC can be spent on personal upgrades on the bike.

Its your money and its your comfort, both emotionally and phyiscally. Have fun and let us know what you decided on. Pictures go a long way!

I have the Black Ice Denim, feel free to check my album for some pics. I love the color shift. I'm not going to steer you one way or another on models...to each his own. Ride them, then you will KNOW. But if you want pics, check mine out.

Not to bust anyones' stones, but it does seem like the WG is the new flavor of the month and personally, I hate the rear fender. Anyhoo, to be objective, both bikes have their strong points, but I believe the Custom is the best buy. It has all of the flash, but is also as bare bones as you want it to be. With the WG, it is already tricked out and would be kinda silly to modify it anymore than it already is, with my custom, I plan on turning it into a true bobber, lowered rear, front end work, kinda want to make it my own. With a WG, you would be ill advised to fool with it as it is set up from the factory as a "bobber"...Now as with anything, this is my opinion, and it is your money...Whatever you decide, enjoy and congrats !!!!!

Go with the Super Glide Custom. Make sure to have forward controls put on before you take delivery. I am 6 ft. tall and the mid-controls were horrible and I felt all scrunched up. With forward controls, nice and relaxed.
