I put a Sundowner seat and big backrest on my FXDXT and the wife rode with me on many 10-14 day trips for two years, she liked it so much she bought herself a new Lowrider last summer and we went to Sturgis...had a blast...looking foreward to this summer.
On the other hand, another couple we ride with...he insisted on leaving everything "stock" on his Wide Glide except for a little pair of bags and a rack/bag; now she's let him buy and E Glide.
Guess we'll get a few more minutes waiting for them when we stop in the mountains.
no problem with 2 up on a streetbob i do it as little as possible with the wife but when she is not on my bike is converted back to solo. its the best way to go
Dyna's work great 2-up. I ride two up almost all the time. I have the Mustang seat with removeable pillion and a sissy bar. Wife loves it. I upgraded the suspension more for me than necessity, but we can ride as far as we want, and quite often ride 2 or 3 hundred miles in a day. Don't think for a second a Dyna's not up to any task.
Suction Cup on the paint is all good so far. - I always give it a quick wipe down before i stick it down though. also i have the denim black, flat paint tends not to show as much.
i had a sweet street bob and had converted it to a two-up setup for the missus... and then one day, we sat on an ultra... and that was all she wrote. Can't beat the touring line for 2-up riding. There are days when i miss my bobber with 16" apes, though.
Sundowner seat, detachable sissy bar/rack - wife rides with no issues would like me to change the seat on the RKC to be as comfortable! My son (17) has actually done more two up riding than myself on this bike, also without conern or issue.
Just added the rear seat and passenger pegs. Dosent look bad and the wife loves it. It was her first ride ever on a bike this last Wednesday and she is hooked. Everything out the door was about $250. The seat is easy to take off when I want to ride solo.
I do want to add a sissy bar down the line.
Anyone that has done this and had to relocate the turn signals, easy to do? And what height did you go with for the sissy bar?
