Default Passenger on a street bob??

I'm trying to decide what bike to buy. I really like the street bob but my wife thinks she may occasionally like to ride. I will be riding alone most of the time but not always. I was considering buying a two up seat and a sissy bar for the street bob and then just change it out when she wants to ride. I have been told that I need a bigger bike like a Heritage but I can't make up my mind. Any opinion/suggestion/experiences?

Thanks

LOL, now then, here in the real world...

I bought a Mustang solo with a separate passenger pillion. I only have the pillion on when I plan to have a passenger. I had to install the Pass. pegs and I keep them folded up most of the time.

I took off my passenger pegs and ride solo only as neither my wife nor girlfriend want to ride. However, if I ever do come across the hitch-hiking hottie, I'll have her sit on my fender bib and put her legs around my waist as per the above U-Tube video!!

Don't waste your money if your g/f wants to ride. I bought a Street Bob with the assurance my g/f would never want to ride.

...three weeks later it cost me over $700 to buy all the parts to make a street bob capable of riding two-up.

Turn signal relocation kit...$$$$
detachable hardware.........$$$$
detachable uprights..........$$$$
sissybar...........................$$$$
sissybar pad.....................$$$$
pelion pad........................$$$$
hardware to connect the two seats ...$$$$
passenger peg mounts......$$$$
passenger peg mount hardware...$$$$
passenger pegs................$$$$

....and after spending all that cash she doesn't ride more than twice a year and when she does the suspension is overloaded and she complains about the vibes through the swingarm mounted pegs.

If she is going to ride, get a softtail or an FL or a Dyna equiped to ride two-up and be happy.

Back in the 70's, I'd ride 2-up on my Yamaha, 200cc street bike...if 1584cc can't get you and your wife where you want to go....I don't know where to steer you..

my wife rides with me regularly. We do have separated seats and I pull her's off on occasion just because I prefer the way it looks... and she prefers the fact that I can't put another woman on behind me w/o it.

No problems here. And let me assure you neither myself or my wife are lightweights. I am 240 and my wife is....well if i post it she wont be my wife anymore. Got a solo for me and a passenger pillion for the stock seat. Also got all the hardware for the quick detach sissy bar. Those $700 in parts is a far cry from getting a street glide (My second choice). Once she gets off I can convert my SB back to a solo before she has her helmet off. Just watch the tire pressure and set the pre-load.
