Slack in throtle
My 06 street bob (7,000 miles) seems to have some slack in the throtle that i have ever noticed before. I can move the throttle about 1/4 turn with no revving of the engine. Is this common, and if so how do i fix it? thanks!
Of the two cables, one is push and one is pull.
If you have slack in the throttle, loosen the adjuster under the black boot near the throttle housing. Just pull back the boot enough to get some wrenches on it.
In simple terms, turn the adjustment out so you are lengthening the cable. Don't overdo as you should have some slack.
If your throttle doesn't spring back like it used too or is slow to return, the other cable needs adjusted out.
Hope this helps!

And this is potentially dangerous stuff too. When I replaced my handlebars, I had a cable that had jumped out of its groove. I honestly couldn't tell if it only came out when I took the upper half of the housing off, or if it had already come out. I played with it a bit and with that cable out of place it was possible to get the throttle to jam. So definitely make sure you dial that slack outta there. It *may* not be able to come out of the groove, but if it does, just about anything could happen.
