I personally like the 2 up seats over the solo but I have a fatbob. I would look into a 2 up C&C seat, comfy and they have excellent customer service. I also like that they don't hit your pockets too hard and good quality

I don't ride 2 up very often so this is an option that works for me. I cut a microfiber towel just about the same size as the back part of the seat, slightly larger. When I'm going to put the seat on I make sure to clean any dust or dirt off of the fender and give it a quick wax, lay the cut piece of towel down and put the seat right over it (you'll see just a slight line of the towel under the seat all the way around if it's sized right, that way the edges of the seat won't rub on the paint. It works for me at least, not a mark on my rear fender yet.

+1 on C&C! I'll be buying a solo soon and pillion when the wife decides to ride.

As for the fender glue some felt fabric to the bottom. I hear that works great. Also I forget what they are called, but they are a type of vinyl sticker you can put under on the fender. (they used to protect car paint from rock chips) When I put my roll bag on the handlebars I put a vinyl sticker under it on the headlight and it didn't scratch. What's great is it comes right off with no residue when you're done!

suction cup pillions are not for passengers(the companies warn against using for passengers)! they are to put a bag on the fender or something along those lines. Also imagine if you install suction cups on paint. Any dirt on the fender gets ground in! Get a pillion that fits your stock seat.

I do question the power of suction cups on the fender. If they lose suction, then there is the possibility of losing your passenger. I went with the Sundowner seat and sissy bar to help keep my passengers on the bike. The price was right for me. I bought the seat at dealer cost, new, in the box.

First off I've tried the suction cup "P" pad and it will definitely not stick to black denim and will definitely leave circles on your paint.I've also tried a bolt on Bates style "P" pad which I thought felt comfortable enough but the wife would not ride round the block on.What I should have done in the first place was shop around in the classified section for a two up seat for a Lowrider or Superglide Custom. I recently picked up a Superglide custom seat for $85 in like new condition. Also there are stick on felt pads they make for your dining room chairs you can get a bunch of these at the dollar store for.....$1 stick em to the parts of your seat that touch the fender and your done.

a used 2-up and some sort of buffer between the seat and the fender is how i think i'm gonna go.
