After trying many set-ups, I finally found the perfect seat which eliminated my hearing her bitch when we ride. This seat sits on top of her Sportster XL.
If you are planning on taking someone else along for a ride, what impression do you want them walk away with after they get off? If you care, get a proper dual seat and a comfortable one. If the other person is someone you really treasure, make it very comfortable! You can sit on what ever you want when you are on it by yourself.
I have the Mustang wide touring seat and the passenger seat detaches, the wife likes it compared to the stock seat.
It will leave a mark on the fender where the rubber pads sit, at first they come out with a little buffing, now after a few years you can barely see them even after buffing.
grbrown, my girlfriend doesn't ride iwth me all that often, and when she does it's never really for more than an hour or two...so i'm not all that concerned with the comfort of her ***, moreso with the integrity of my fender.
joe, how does the paint hold up under the pillion and a passenger?

I have the Mustang Vintage with the passenger pillion that attaches and detaches with one screw. Its true, it will leave two swirl marks where the rubber bumpers hit the fender, but they arent that bad. You have to get right down close and have the perfect lighting to see them. As far as comfort, I love the seat. My girlfriend complained after 50 miles, which is a lot longer than when shes in the car with me.
I would recommend stayingaway from Bar Enterprises. http://www.harleyseats.com I Just bought a hitchhiker pillow top seat from them. It is very similar to the mustang Regal Duke. The seat is comfy for me but the wife don't like it. It seems well made but I have the mustang on my Honda and like it much better. My biggest complaint was their customer service though. It took 6 weeks to get the seat when they said it would take 3-4. I wouldn't mind it being late if they would have let me know what was going on. But when I would call they would not answer or return my calls. I emailed several times with no reply. Very frustrating.
