man that thing must handle like it is on rails!!!! i have to do a true track set up... love the response so far! i am doing a stearing stabilizer for sure though... nice mods man! dig the derby cover!
Thanks Joe. I had it out for a longer ride today. Sweet. Comfort and handling! Can't wait to get agressive on some long sweepers. I'm going to have to wait for the winter sand to go away first though - I don't want to end up in the river.
I was stationed aboard the Juneau long before she was stationed in Japan! I was in the Navy from 1975-79, home ported out of San Diego. I did get to Japan a few times though, over three Westpacs. When we were overseas our homeport was Okinawa, but we spent a lot of time in Yokosuka. There were some other Japanese ports in there, but I've forgotten them...
Yea I'll be out here for this summer. I transfer OCT!! 9 more months and I'm done with recruiting. I'm planning on heading back to Silverdale, WA so I'll still be in the NW. It's looking promising at getting orders. I like the derby. I was thinking about getting the Sub Dolphins timing cover from those guys.
I was a signalman. I hear that now there are no more signalmen, so i guess now the skill is entirely useless
I tried to talk my hunting buddies into learning semaphore once... You know how that went over. Seemed like a great idea at the time.
Jaron: Great! Looking forward to the next HDForums Rally in August.

Yeah that's been gone for a while. I can't remember if they merged with another rate or went away altogether. I was in almost 5 years and never stepped foot on a ship besides for a tour or transferring custody of someone we had detained.
i did a west pac on the denver LPD 9. we only broke down twice......
Ha ha, I remember once we were out for sea trials after work on the boilers. I had the mid watch (midnight till 4am) so was sleeping late. My bunk was right next to the anchor hause. They dropped the anchor while I was asleep, and I thought the ship was blowing up! I was up, had my pants on and was half way to the ladder leading to the main deck before it dawned on me what was going on.
My wife took advantage of that weakness of mine... when she didn't want to get up with a crying baby at night, she'd yell, "The baby!" I'd be running down the hall toward the nursery as she rolled over.

Shore patrol huh? Reminds me of a close call I had with the shore patrol involving a pound of... oh never mind.

Master at arms. I'm sure things have changed a **** ton since you were in. They're trying to make that rate more like the marines, which I don't understand since the navy already has the marines.
Anyway I hated it. Glad to be out lol.
