Default Winter mods done!

This year it was handling and suspension, so not much to see. It's too dark to take pictures now, but will soon. I added a Superbrace, Ricor Intiminators, True-Track, and Ohlins shocks. I've only got about 20 miles on the Ohlins so far, but I could tell a big difference. The bike felt very connected to the road, and at the same time smoother or cushier.

What a change from stock! The biggest difference came from the True-Track, followed by the Ohlins, then the Intiminators, and finally the Superbrace. I wonder though if I had reversed the installation sequence, if the Ohlins would be at the top...

Now if the weather would just cooperate. I'm ready to ride some serious twisties!

Yeah... not so much. Though the snow is gone and its been in the 40's a few times so its looking up. I'm hoping for this weekend! Does it look like you're going to be stationed here for next Summer?

Oh, and since you're a Navy guy, I got this for Christmas from my wife. It's on the bike now, but I don't have a picture of it there. My old ship was decomissioned the Summer I bought my bike new, so...

I was stationed aboard the Juneau long before she was stationed in Japan! I was in the Navy from 1975-79, home ported out of San Diego. I did get to Japan a few times though, over three Westpacs. When we were overseas our homeport was Okinawa, but we spent a lot of time in Yokosuka. There were some other Japanese ports in there, but I've forgotten them...

I got the derby cover from Custom Engraving http://www.custom-engraving-ltd.com/index.html

Yeah I understand that the Juneau was built and commissioned in Seattle. Is he in the area? Do you know what his rate (job) was?
