Default Shock woes

I was set on getting a set of 11.25" Street Trackers from Works. I call to order them and he talks me out of them. I want to lower my bike and still be able to handle the curves. Compromise sucks. Who else, besides Last Saint, is running a 12" Works shock? Any pics would be helpful.

If you want to lower your bike and get the best handling call HDF sponsor Howard at Motorcycle Metal. He builds custom Ohlins and can help. Don't be surprised if experts talk you out of short shocks, as they seriously compromise comfort and handling.

Lots of options out there. If you go with high dollar shocks make sure they are local. Otherwise you get into a shipping nightmare.

I like Progressive but if I had the money I would look at Ricor. They have some great front end upgrade equipment and there's no reason to think their shocks aren't equally fantastic.

The Ikon shocks look good to me too. The price is a bit high (about $400) but they are rebuildable and aren't as touchy as Ohlins to set up.

Progessive shocks aren't an option for me. I may use their front springs. I am planning to run 12" works street trackers. I don't have any wiring under my fender so I may use a small lowering block if I want it to sit lower. I'll have to check out the Ikon shocks.

Just out of curiosity; what is it about the Progressive that rule them out?

Like I said; just curios.

I've had Ikon's on my WG for about 8K miles. Gave away my 12" 412s after about 2 months of ....
The Ikon's are very nice, with some adjustments and are rebuildable.
Stock height will give you a better ride and handling.

I just learned the Ricor's are rebuildable as well so there's another plus in that column.

Don't they have an 11.6" version? My buddy has 12" works on his dyna... great shock.... I have 12" Ohlins on my bike... even better shock... Howard has developed a lower version of my shock in conjunction with Ohlin. It sits lower than 12" and even has more travel than the 12" version. They are the #2 shock seen on the page that follows. Call him for HDF prices. http://76.162.149.2/gpage31.html
I thought last saint had an 11.6" shock on his bike. Looks like it anyways.
