Apes to Drags

I've got a 2000 WG that came with 12" apes that're 35" wide. I'm not a tall guy...5'7"/200lbs and I find the apes are pretty comfy although riding at highway speeds is tiring as my arms are spread out pretty good and I'm leaning back already (don't like windshields). I love the look of pull back drag bars...something like 8" or so back...8" or so tall...1 1/4 thick...not sure what other measurements I need to consider. I guess I'd like to hear from some of you that have gone from apes to drags and what your thoughts are concerning riding position, comfort, handling difference, etc.
