Default New Clutch Cable

I'm changing my clutch cable today and the manual says to drain tranny fluid. Is it really nessecary to drain the fluid since the bottom of the cover is about 6 inches above the bottom of the tranny. I know it only holds 1 quart but I just can't imagine the level being that high. I just changed it about 1000 miles ago and I don't want to have to do it again if I don't have to.

You can put each tire on a 2x4 or some type of block. then when the bike is on its jiffy stand it will lean over far enough that you shouldn't need to drain the oil. Just make sure it's not leaning too far over

yup bike on 2x6 will lean it over far enough. Or you could just get a o ring for the drain plug, drain oil into a clean container, change cable, and pour fluid back in. I did that once.
