Due to other projects, it took a Lot longer than it should have. Bike is Almost completely wired up, I only lack the brake/tail light circuit. Here is proof that a twin cam does Not need all that factory crap to run like a raped ape. This entire bike is wired with one smart ignition box, a crank sensor, and two necessary fuses.
(From Thunderheart:
ˇIntegrated high-output single fire operation
ˇFully programmable spark timing and rev-limit via the
included Smart Link software
ˇReal-time diagnostic features aid in troubleshooting and tuning
ˇUtilizes the factory crank trigger for improved starting
and performance)
The horn is mounted under the backbone between the battery box and leather tool bag. (Mounted in place of the factory electrical box) All new electronics are located directly under the seat for easy access. All wiring is run through the backbone as well. The bike still has a long way to go before being finished, but for now I'm having fun with it being back on the road. (I've been just cruising around my neighborhood until I finish the tail light wiring.) The handlebars still need to be narrowed, hand controls need to get cleaned up on the grinder, 21" needs lacing up, etc... It'll get there.
i like it! have you thought about cutting the ends of the bars off about 2 inches? get it all nice and tight on the front end? ooh ya! ebay will make ya a killing on some of that stuff that you tore out of there bud! looking good keep at it
Very impressive idea and result, i have never had any electrical problems, but now i (and everybody reading this thread) wants to do this just because... :=)
Bike sounds like shlt! bring it too Ct. for proper use. ...Nice job, j/k of course. Ya got more nads than me. i suppose I would go your route if forced to. But for now. If it works don't f&^k with it. Till it breaks lol.
