I have V&H Big Raidus 2 in 2 and pulled the baffles out with a metal rod that had an eye loop at the end that I use to hook over the bolt that holds the baffles in. First unscrew the baffles and take the same bolt and screw it into a "fin" of the baffles inside the pipe, then wrap a hook of some sort, coat hanger or rod around it, lock on a pair of vice grips and hit the vice grips with a hammer and the baffles will slide right out. For safetly have someone sit on the bike holding the front brake to make sure it doesnt move too much, 3 or 4 whacks the baffles will be out. Love the sounds with out them!

Is it possible to wrap some sound deadening around the baffles and refit them ? ..just to tone them down a little..

You might be able to wrap something around the baffles then reinstall them, but it would be alot easier to just buy quiter baffles instead to tone down the noise. Look around for a set of quiter baffles would be a lot easier to slide those in that having something wrapped around the baffle, most likely whatever you wrap around the baffle would slide off when reinstalling them in the pipe.

Thanks..was a relavation to me that you could actually get the baffles out of the BR 2-2 because of the curve in them.. knew the other VH pipes would be ok as they're straight.. maybe I'll check with a VH supplier...thanks

Just did a quick check on VH hompage..dont do quiet baffles for BR 2-2 ....... that sucks !!!

Well bro to get a quiter baffle I'd go with another manufacturer, Just make sure it is the same diameter for the pipes. I believe Bigcitythunder has a set of baffles to make the sound deeper not sure if it will be quiter, just look thru Dennis Kirk, Screamin Eagle, Cruisercustomizing.com or any other American V-twin catalog and go the exhaust section and order a set of baffles that will reduce the noise. But honestly you have a tough set of pipes to make quiet, I honestly removed my baffles out of my 2 in 2 pipes, but I like obnoxiously loud pipes, I know for a fact that a good set of quiter baffles will muffle those pipes down for you to your liking. and a set of baffles should run you between 30 to 80 bucks depending on brand.

I was curious if they were wrapped from the factory before I tried to remove them. Wouldn't mind a little louder but not sure I want to run with out the baffle completely. Thanks all!
