Default FXD wide front fender?

I am trying to find out what if any front fenders will either bolt on directly or close enough that a minor mod will enable me to put a wider fender on my 07 Superglide. I have looked through the threads and cannot find much info on this subject. I am looking for a dresser type fender (Roadking, Electraglide...). I appreciate any help.

Your best bet might be a custom undrilled front fender like the ones in the link. The fenders are pg 419-24. find one thats the width and size you like then just drill your holes and cut off any excess before you have it painted

Doubt it's easy. The fender bosses on my 09 ElectraGlide are approx. 8" outside to outside, same as the distance between the fork tubes. The tubes on my 07 FXDB are approx. 6" apart.

The bosses on the EG fender are approx. 5/8" each, so if you cut them off and filled the area in flat with the side of the fender you'd get it down to about 6-3/4" wide - still wider than the narrow glide front end.

It certainly could be done, with the right skills. You could slice the fender in half lengthwise, cut out a couple of inches and weld it back together. Or you could possibly create some sort of rounded relief sections that would curve around the fork tubes but I think that would look weird and be tons of work.

That said, I would wonder whether older (Evo or more likely Shovel) FLH models might not be a bit narrower than the Twinkie tourers? I really don't know. Might be something to look for at local bike swap meets. Good luck.

The Softail Heritage Classic (FLSTC) is similar in shape to the Road King (FLHR) but the mounting brackets are positioned slightly lower ....

Before the 2006 model year, the FLSTC fender was pretty much a direct bolt on to the Wide Glide (FXDWG) ... then they changed the alignment of the FXD mounting tabs to a vertical orientation .... The other thing with the 'mid-glide' front ends is that they are too narrow to accommodate the width of the FLSTC/FLHR fenders ....

So, long story short ... no direct bolt on for your application ....

I think I saw where someone had adapted that type fender to a mid-glide or narrow-glide front end; but, I seem to remember they made vertical cuts on either side of the fender so it 'straddled' the lower slider on their fork ... looked a little amateurish to me ... but, that was one way to do it ....

What is his username? I can't find him. Does the streetbob have the narrow glide front end?

Does anyone know if I can use another triple tree from a different model that will give me more room for a fender and still use my stock forks? I really want to do the Fatboy swap, but it is not feasible right now.

I'm not that fond of the look, but SUMAX makes fiberglass/composite fenders that might be what you're looking for ... see this link: http://www.sumax.com/loboyfen.htm

Like I say, not my 'cup of tea,' but thought I'd suggest it ....

If you have a hand grinder and a cutting wheel it is not hard to make your own "unique" fender from a blank.

I did both front and rear for the FXR.
