I used the kit with the metal bar and kept the master cylinder near the rear brake. I had no troubles in installing them. I agree with Hog, its mostly a looks thing.

Looks ... some serious billet forwards out there.... get's real expensive though.

I have had forwards on all my previous bikes, but have kept the mids on my 09 SB. I love them and the way the bike handles. Again I'm only 5'10, but I feel like I have a lot more control with the mids. I plan on putting highway pegs on for long trips, but I will stick with the setup that works for me.
