Thanks for feedback guys. I wonder if there is a bracket out there that would move it back between the forks a bit. Not sure I have 3", but there's some room left.
I was just so happy to get the darn thing on and working that I didn't even think about how far out it is. LOL...
Hey friend, you got plenty of time to play around with ideas to move that sucker back or down or whatever, the main thing is, you have conquered what a lot of guys have concerns about, myself included is, For me it's perfect and I don't feel insecure about driving at night on dark NJ poorly paved roads. I could take that same sentence and replace NJ with TX and say the same thing, so if that will get you out the door on that thing at night to ride, then MO power to ya. I recently added a fatboy 7" light to my sb with the silverstar bulb to get a little more of the feeling you just got. Although that thing you got looks like something from star trek on the front lens. Enjoy the new light and your ride.
MAN that is cool man! i am a huge fan of projection style bulbs i put them in my jeep and love them, only thing i would say is to flip around the headlight mount and tuck that sucker into the trees a bit more so it is not hanginng out in front of the trees so muc. when i did my big headlight i machined my own mount block... but alot of times if you just take the stock block and turn it around so it is backwards you can pull it back a bit into the trees. if not, let me know i am sure i have some stock around here and can prob make you one if you want... also what you going to do with your stock lamp? i have been looking for a fatbob light for my wifes cafe build? looks good man!
Hey guys - anyone try fitting a softail nacelle headlight on a fatbob? i'm split between at fatboy lo and a fatbob- really not diggin the double headlights but a fan of the handling. thanks!
Looking at the pic made from the front, I realized that a Fat Bob would look really cool without any headlights at all! Then I realized that would majorly suck for poorly paved roads at night, so nevermind. Your idea was probably better, even though it looks sort of like an eyeball hanging out of the socket.
