The throttle grip/tube could also be contacting the end of the handlebar, may need to loosen the right switch housing and slide the assembly to the right slightly. If so, recheck the position of the brake lever if you have to move the switch housing. Also the friction pad for the throttle lock can come off of the thumb screw and bind things up. Gotta use care and be observant putting the assembly back together. It easy to overlook something.
wonkaboy, already tried that cruis ****. Was hoping that was the problem. The two cables from behind the air cleaner seem to move freely ... i am at a loss for now...Thanks
All the other answers are right here on this thread on what to do and look for , give a try and i bet you fix it !
Hey ALL...thanks for all the help. I am going out now to try all the suggestions. Hopefully it works. I ll let everyone know how it turns out tonight! Thanks Again, C
Get it to stick...then loosen up the top and bottom switch houseing screws one at a time till the throttle flips back.....if it doesnt loosen up the handlebar clamp screws one at a time.
You just need to reposition things slightly.....but even after you think you "got it" and tighten everything down and it seems good....keep an eye on it until you know it's good.
Everytime I changed grips that happens. Usually it didnt happen until I put on my heat deamons and things expanded a little.....thats all it took was a little heat to make things bind.
After a few adjustments and repositioning by a hair....all will be good.
Hey there. Just installed street slammer 1 1/2" bars on my bike today and now the throttle grip sticks. (kury iso grips) is it just a coincidence or did I do something wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
pull the throttle assembly away from the end of the bars 1/8". This always seems to be what folks do wrong.
Also since your breaking the locktight you should (at some point) take each screw back out one at a time and put a dab of blue color (med) lock tight back on those threads. Having the bottom screw fall out on a run would suck.
Good luck.
