Hey Guys,
I installed my V&H BS slip-ons without baffles last week. Love the sound but have a few issues. First off the rear mount
for the heat shield on both mufflers was in the wrong place. There is a cutout on the bracket where the muffler brace goes that is
suppose to hold the clamp. If you follow the instructions and locate the pipe 1 9/16" in the heat shield, you cannot put the clamp
in this cutout. Doesn't line up. I used a bigger clamp and located it back farther and trimmed the excess off.
The second item was that you can see the spot welds through the chrome on the top side of the heat shield where the clamp
is located underneath. They look like dimples. I expected more from V&H. Anybody else notice this?
I plan to call V&H to point this out and fix in future.

Ride On.....Joe

Sorry to hear you had problems maybe the heat shields you received are for another style muffler.

Mine fit on good but I did not measure the 1 9/16 I just put them on till they met the heat shield from the front pipe
and clamped it down ( I think the distance was 1 1/2" after the installation was complete which is 1 9/16 basically minus
1/16 which is moot..

The heat shields fit properly and I did not have to trim anything off the clamps.
