Default triple trees

hey for those of you that have removed your triple trees can you confirm for me the size sockets needed, the top looks to be 1 3/8 or bigger, and i am not sure about the size of the adjuster nut,

i only ask because i dont want to buy a whole set of those larger sockets for use a few times any help would be appreciated thanks

It's a 1-1/2". I bought a big cresent wrench and was able to use it without damaging the nut and it was only about $20. I couldn't find the individual socket in 1/2" drive anywhere in stock so the cresent was the next best option.

You don't need a socket for the adjuster. It has notches that you tap with a screwdriver.

Check Sears. I purchased their 1" - 1 1/2" socket set, 1/2" drive on sale for less than $20.00. It doesn't include the 1 3/8" which fits the fork caps, but you can do without.

+1; Sears, but I did buy both sockets.

My adjusting nut was hand tight. No issues getting it off. Now I'm worried about the fall away adjustment putting it back together.
