Default Mid controls, brake lever mod.....check it out

This has probably been done before but here is my version of how to spruce up my rear brake pedal. I picked up a cheap brake pedal pad for a wide glide at a local shop. Someday I will change this to a Kury pilot so everything will match. Man I used a 4 1/2" angle grinder to grind the top and bottom of the pedal flat. Drilled a hole and bolted the pad on, pretty simple deal. I thought it would be easier to leave it on the bike I just covered up the rest with an old blanket. Got some pictures before the surgery and after, give me some feedback.......

Oh yeah if you do this mmmmmmmm........dont get the grinder too close to the blanket man it wrapped that MF'ER up quick! Had to cut it loose with a knife.......

Brake looks much better!

You know what's even worse? Getting the grinder wrapped up in your shirt and taking a chunk out of your skin. I've still got a scar on my gut and that was from 4 or 5 years ago when I was rebuilding a VW. That stung for a while!

I like it.Next time buy a roll of extra wide aluminum foil to use instead of the blanket.

Nice work. I think I'll look to do the same thing. And If I can figure out how to extend the brake pad forward an inch or so it'll be even better for me.

Great job on the brake pedal. as for the tool problem, I did the same thing with a belt sander on my shirt. ripped it half off of me. lesson learned so we no longer have belt sander races.

Looks great.... I have been playing around with a sanding wheel on my grinder on some scrap metal trying to perfect the ground metal look that they have come out with on some the new tins... I am finding it very difficult to match...
