No, it's easy. If you have a manual and a large cresent wrench (or the proper size box end for the top bolt), you can do it. Get a length of proper size pvc tube to use as a seal driver, and put the old seal over top of the new one, so the old seal takes all the punishment.
When your putting it back together, rather than using one hand to compress the spring and get the top cap threads started, tighten the top cap in the upper tree, then you have two hands to push up the fork and get the threads started.
Make sure the lettering/ numbers on the new seals are facing up.
