I had to get rid of the cheesy brushed aluminum battery band too. I bought the "beefy" script cover too. When my bike was delivered last week, the first thing I did was put on the battery band. Then I put on the chrome license plate holder & clamped on the quick detach windshield. After that I was ready for my first ride.
Below is a animated GIF of my bike with everything I've done so far (in addition to the abovementioned, I have the detachable saddlebags, quick detach windshield, detachable tall HD sissy bar w/ HD embossed backrest & HD tapered chrome luggage rack, forward controls installed, headlight & front turn signal trim rings). Pretty good for owning it less than 2 weeks!
