Default Front Axle size

What are the front axle sizes on the 06 and up wideglides. I know that they changed from 3/4" to 1" but did they change again to 25mm at some point. I bought a harley chrome lower kit and the axel nut covers say for 08 up and the lowers say for 06 up.

06 - 07 are 1"

08s are 25mm

The sliders are the same for all of the above Wide Glide models.

They are close, but not the same. The axles, bearings, etc. are not interchangeable.

How can the sliders be the same? Will both the 1" and 25mm axle work with them?

Is the front axle really 1" in outside diameter? I thought the rear axle was incremented in those sizes. Will replacing the bearings, say an 3/4" with 1" make the wheel fit?
