great grab! i snag stuff up form leatherup.com every now and then as well... i do not own a riding jacket that cost over 100 bucks... my wife.... has 5 all of which cost well over 200 bucks... go figure, they got to MATCH the outfit type deal.... but hey she does not bitch when there is a new bike in the garage every few months! so i dont complain!
Hey good catch there Buckeye, I've gotta fieldsheer that has same colors, black/grey, and I wear it a majoity of time. The main thing is if it fits, is comfortable and is another reason to keep you from not being able to ride, then you made a good purchase. I dig the leather stuff too, in fact I did it so much, I don't have any of it, yea I've looked at it a bunch, but the fact is, a majority of what I have looked at is Disco Leather, which is cheap crap, of course the stuff I would buy is frigging heavy and it ain't cheap leather, but when I go down, it's not coming apart at the sweatshop threads.
Anyrate, that jacket you got, it have armor in it?

I got the black one, size large tall. I'm 6'6", 220, and it fits just right, snug and plenty long enough. It just came in today, and for that low price, it's a super nice jacket with some new features I've never seen in a jacket before.
The first is the interior face shield pocket. I have a dark smoke shield for my helmet but I never use it because I hate carrying around two shields, and I'm always afraid I won't be home before dark and the smoke is too dark for nighttime riding. Problem solved. The pocket is very soft inside, and the shield wraps around your ribcage, totally out of the way. I can't even tell that it's in there. Very, very nice.
Second is the windproof snap-together band around the bottom of the jacket. Great thinking there, since it's a longer jacket I can see how drafts could get up underneath.
Third, the vents in the chest. When you open them, you can snap the two inside flaps together to hold them open. Very clever.
The jacket is waterproof and comes with a zip-out liner. Of course, it doesn't include the $100 HD logo, but I really don't care. I also own a Joe Rocket mesh jacket that I love. I actually did consider a HD branded jacket, but you just get so much less for so much more $$$.
Around Thanksgiving New Enough had a close-out on First Gear's "Kilimanjaro"
jacket for @ $140 and I got one. It's very bulky with the winter liner, but I've
ridden for hours in 25 degree weather.
I also bought a First Gear "Torrent" mesh jacket through them (no longer in catalog)
for a similar price. It's been very comfortable in 60-100 degree weather.

Yep. Elbows, shoulders and back. Only way to go!

Hot Leathers in Daytona has good prices on leather stuff. I have one of their jackets that is real warm (for Florida winter, anyway) and has plenty of zippered vents plus the zip out lining. I paid just over $100. for it and it seems bulletproof. I figured if something bad happened, I'm not out that much cash. They have a decent web site. I have no idea where the stuff is made, though.
