Default Anyone ever think

of raising a SB instead of lowering ? I am looking for more ground clearance.

For a while I have had the standard road king touring shocks on mine which are 3/4" longer than stock. They do provide a little more cornering clearance. I like the look of the stock height better than when it is raised. For my riding style I won't go below stock height. My sig pic show the raised rear height.

I raised my FXDC with FXDXT shocks. I was grinding stuff just riding around town with the stock stuff. I know it's not a popular look, but it sure works for me!

I think Centerline went with taller shocks on his Fat Bob to more lean angle too...I like the looks of Street Bobs lowered, but I'm not willing to give up any lean angle.

I noticed with the Night Dragon tires, they raised the bike slightly compared to the stock Dunlops...a bit taller profile. Also, a bit less space between the front tire and the fender.

I kept mine stock height, but my new shocks are pretty stiff, so i sit higher now.

When i changed my shocks ( Hagons ) i went with 1/2" longer than stock. Firstly to improve the quality of ride /handling and the extra 1/2" does help with ground clearance. It still drags but a little later. You could go longer again, i think the Dyna Glide are longer, but too long and the fender starts to look a little odd. Another benefit with the longer shocks is that it quickens up the steering which i found an added bonus.

I just ordered a set of 12.6" Ohlins from Howard at Motorcyle Metal. Stock length is 12". I'm more concerned with a little more ground clearance than the way it looks, but that's just me. My exhaust is kind of expensive for a curb feeler.

The curb feeler and clover leaf scraper is what I want to avoid. I already scraped one set of pegs. Thx for the ideas.
