I've been playing around with the idea of running air shocks on my bike for quite some time and I was wondering if anyone here is still using them? Also I've read mixed reviews of the Ultima chrome lowering air shocks that Eastern Performance Cycles sells and am wondering if anyone has used those long term and your opinions on them. Thanks for your time!
I purchased some used air shocks off a touring bike but wound up selling them without installing them because the wife did not like the look. Oh well. Next winter I may look into getting some chrome air shocks. I will definitely be watching this thread to see what some of the long time owners think.
I ran them for a month or two...awesome ride at 15psi., but.....they sat too high and were so dmn ugly I removed them. Still have them for long road trips, where they will really shine. My lady loved them, she enjoyed the awesome ride.
I'm in the ditch them crowd. I LOVED the ride, but hated bottoming out all the time when we were two up. If I was a solo only rider, I would never have gotten rid of them.
I'm running them now. I'm using the stock '09 Ultra air shocks (non-lowered version). When I ride 2-up, with a full tour pack and now soon to be stock street glide hard bags I'm going to need that extra height of the stockers.
Ride is nice and plush, but not ideal for ***** out hard carving up the twisties.
I'm using the Street Glide 12" Low Profile shocks, a lot softer than the original shocks, and they really smooth out the ride. More info on the two below links: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...questions.html
I ran some for a few months also . I bought the lowered set for a street glide. Rode nice looked good IMO but 2 up bottomed out ( yes i put more air in them lol ) and wore my wires threw and left me set quite a distance from home. SO im back to the stockers now to :-)
