so the last thing i need for my bike is a crossover tube. i have a peice of fuel line up there, the factory clamps didnt look bad but since i ripped them off i have to go back with hose clamps and they look awful, was thinking about this H-D Stainless Steel Fuel Cross Over Line 63709-04 but do not hear anything of them? so whats the though, i got about a 100 miles before i can change since i just filled up with gas!
you can always go back to stock, and use the HD squeeze clamps. you can buy the clamps from HD or go to a Irrigation.sprinkler shop or hydraulic hose shop for the clamps. i got the tool to squeeze the clamp from a local irrigation supply store.
For fuel lines you really need a proper fuel line clamp for the hose - something that clamps as near to the full 360deg of the hose circumference as possible. The usual worm drive type hose clips (we call 'em Jubilee clips here in the UK) aren't really that good for the job because they always leave a small bit of unclamped tube under the wormdrive where they can "pinch" the tube and potentially cause a leak. They look pretty untidy as well IMO. Great for your back yard hose but not ideal for fuel lines
Alternatively you could splash out for a crimping tool and do them like they the factory, they look very neat and are probably the best way of doing it. More of a pain to get off though when you want to work on the fuel lines
DO NOT waste your money on the HD stainless crossover, nothing but lousy experience.
I bought stainless covered fuel line from JP Cycles and the chrome covered hose clamps, made a good looking crossover. Also, if you are going to replace the thing, get a METAL dual quick disconnect while you are at it. Never have to drain the tank again.
Just my $0.02

+1 on that. I bought one and it sucks. It left some areas on the tubes that was not painted exposed.
