Default Security system or No System?

Howdy folks,
I'm checking out the ups and downs of putting the factory security system on my 2009 Dyna Super Glide. It came without the system and I'd like to get some input from folks on whether to kick in the $630 for the factory system W/alarm, two fobs and labor included.

What a great help it is this old biker to get right back up to speed, seeing as the last Hog I had was a '58 Pan.

Thanks in advance,

Pat

Waste of money in my opnion lock it up and keep the insurance up. $630 buy alot of other items for the bike. How many alarms do you hear going off on cars and what nots and do you go running to help or call the police or anything no everyone ignors them. And if a thief wants your bike hes going to get it alarm or no alarm. I couldn't justify it don't see the need for it.

maybe iam old school on this but my 07 doesn't have it my dads 09 cvo does but he still locks it up when out on rides and by the time that alarm goes off in the middle of the night and he gets his gun and old *** out of bed the bike will be gone. But his came factory installed.

I've got the factory security - but no alarm - on my 09 FLTHC. Seriously considering adding it to the Dyna but the $300 is a bit high IMO.

I like the peace of mind of knowing that when I stop somewhere and walk away the bike won't start without the fob. Sure a thief can pick it up and stick it in the back of a truck, but most places I go are far too public for that. When I take road trips I use cable locks to rope the two bikes together or lock one to a light pole or something.

To me it isn't about ensuring it won't get stolen (nothing can do that) but more about making mine a harder target so the thieves look for something easier.
