Default Lowered Fat Bob

Put Progressive Drop-In springs in the front and Burly shocks on the rear. Whole install took 90 minutes (faster if I wasn't taking the pics or having to run back to the fridge).

I wanted to get a Slammer Kit, but was told Burly doesn't offer the front springs for an FXDF, however Progressive did. I suspect that these two companies are actually one in the same, especially after looking at the packaging.

Cost of the kit was under $300 (local dealer is doing 20% off aftermarket parts) and quite frankly the hardest part was getting the bike up onto the jack.

Two words of warning - this lowers the bike so much that in order to put it back up onto a jack you will need to drive up onto something a bit higher. I used two 3/4 plywood boards. Also, the lean angle when on the kickstand has been reduced to where it almost sits straight up! I am working on this issue. I wonder if a Sporty kickstand would fit?

The first pic is a before, everything else is after.

Looks good russ make sure your rear fender dosnt bottom out. The wires for your tail light run right threw the middle of it.

you can notch out your current kickstand to have it lean a little more.

Rounder,

Not sure what you mean by notching. Could you clarify? I stiffened the shocks all the way, and there is about an inch of clearance without me sitting on it. When I get on, the shocks barely compress. Plus I've had no issues on my test runs. Haven't put the girl on it yet, but hell, she ain't that big!

Remove the jiffy stand from the bike.
Sand off a little material from the top of the 'lock' tab.
Reinstall the jiffy stand.

+1 I did this. You have to grind a little (1/4"-5/16" max) off the tab that contacts the frame.

Looks real good. Especially Photo #2. Looks like you took off the engine guard / highway bars too - think it looks "tighter" without.

I've been thinking of lowering my St.Bob - I'm still not sure about lowering blocks vs. shorter shocks. I think I can get 11" progressive 412 and the progressive front drop-ins for about the same price as the Burly Kit.

Please, give an update on your impression of how it rides / handles.

Yeah, I'd be real interested in the ride quality and ground clearance. Let us all know...
