Took me a while, but finally pulled the trigger and ordered some Ohlins #5 rear shocks! Should hopefully be in later this week. Plan is to install them and make certain it's the right spring and can be dialed in perfectly, then remove them and send em out for some gloss black powder and some chrome.
I'm really psyched after everything I've read and heard about these shocks!
I've been riding with the 440's for a bunch of years now and can't wait to see how these Ohlins perform.
If everything goes well, should be completed and good to go sometime in April.
Awsome shocks from all I've heard...but changing out the yellow. In the words of the immortal Billy Crystal, "Don't be a schnook, it's not how you ride, it's how you look...and wity yellow you look GOOD!! lol
I'm figuring on Ohlins too. Have not got it figured which ones I want as yet. Will talk to Howard some more.
Congratulations. Fantastic shocks. Made all the difference in the world on my ride. Unfortunately, they have led to more mods. Cutting down unsprung weight with lighter wheels, Tru-Trac to install before spring along with composite brake rotors, etc. So....after you get those puppies on your bike, what's next Jay
Thanks guys. After I get the shocks on the bike I'll post a few pics. As for the color, once they're on the bike I'll be in a better position to decide whether to stay yellow, or to go with some combo of black, chrome or polished. Pictures are great but there is no substitute for seeing it with your own eyes.
Really pumped to see how it improves the ride. With the condition of the roads (pretty bad!) after all the snow and ice, I got a feeling the shocks are going to get a pretty good workout!
