I just had new handle bars and 4 inch risers done on my 2009 Super Glide, I'm not at all happy how the speedo now sits straight up. They tell me there isn't any mounting brackets from Harley that will change it back to how it originally sat on a angle . Any suggestions, other than going back to the factory bars? and no riser.
A lot of guys on here have done what you are looking to do. I put drag bars on my '08 FXD. I mounted my speedo on the risers using cable clamps and a sportster mount and cup. But there are several different ways to get it done. Look through some of the other threads too.
Make sure you look around, and check if parts might work on your bike. Just because the stealer tells you it can't be done.....it doesn't mean it can't. I installed a tach on my 07 Street Bob with parts i was told would not work on my bike. I installed a mini tach mount (68960-98A) that was meant for 03 - 05 wide glides. I'll post some pics later.
There are a ton of options out there. I have spent a long time planning my handle bar swap out and finaly went with the Street Slamer Burly 1 1/2 " bars with integrated risers. I had to buy a speedo mount from Drag Specialties for my speedo. Way better. Will post pics when done. As for your set up, if you go to straight risers and a handlebar with mor pullback your speedo will go back to original angle. It is the pullback riser that throw off the angle. Check out other threads. I got a lot of help from the guys here, also try a search on speedo mods. C
do a search for speedo relocate...or speedometer relocation, etc... you'll see some options from a few different guys on here if you're mechanically inclined.
If you feel you must keep the stock speedo housing you are very limited in your options at this point.
