Hot heat shields
So yesterday the sun was shining- a few clouds in the sky, and I decided the previous nights’ storm was over so I’d ride to the next town for some DMV business I had to attend to. While I was there my wife called and told me about the sleet and hail we were having at home and I knew it was only a matter of time before I found out firsthand that the storm wasn’t quite over after all.
So I hightailed it back home and pretty soon there was wind and then rain and then sleet and a little hail. Good thing I had a water proof jacket on but my levis were soaked through. OK, no big deal except that when I got off I was amazed that the heat shields were so hot they burned my leg. I don't know how typical that is but I went right in the house and ordered some after-market slip ons I’d been mulling over since I put the stock pipes back on-no more "cats" on my bike.
