you guys are soft. What ever happened to being the man of the house? I hear this more and more now a days about asking the wifey about this and that. My relationship is fine and I did not ask my wife if she minded if I bought a bike. I just told her, I'm buying a new Harley. Now I'm not saying that some of you guys are whipped, but handing your paycheck over to your wife? C'mon guys! What does she give you back to party with? What would your wife say if you went out with the guys and blew a hundred bucks? Do you guys even go out? Do you ask your wife if she minds if you go out for a ride on the bike? I went out with some friends on friday came in at 3 am, how many of you guys can do that and have your wife be fine with that? You see women are smart....in most marriages they let the man think they wear the pants, but in reality they wear the pants and they know it. Didn't happen in my Dads house and it won't in mine. mmmmmmm just my .02

How many times have you been married stbobber?

I only spend a fraction of my money (5%) on myself and the wife knows that......we been together 18 years and I love her dearly but I just "show up" with a new bike. She doesn't say much because I work 60+ hours a week and she gets a new car all the time which is worth 3 times what my bike costs. But if she objected, I would think twice......then get it anyway... Better to ask forgiveness than permission...my $.02. But, I got 3 daughters so I got to do something macho once in a while or my d%$k is gonna fall off.

The fact is..all this "soft", "pu$$y whipped" talk is just silly. There's a big difference between a man who kisses his wife's a$$ about everything...isn't allowed to go out...can never speak up about anything...basically a guy who has a warden... And a guy who respects his wife's opionion, and respects the fact that she contributes to a marriage as much as he does.
A real man gets respect from his wife...and gives it. There's nothing "soft" about it.
When it was time for me to get a harley, it wasn't a question of if..it was a question of when. But with that, I wanted my wife's opinion. I like the fact that my wife is interested in motorcycles. My marriage is a partnership...with everything, including money. So when I spend 20 grand on something, she absolutely has a say. She goes out and works every day...just like me.

Sounds like you guys are the boys who are in touch with their feelings. 50/50 and all that crap. Good for you. Partners for life. In touch with the old feminine side. I gotta say that you are lucky to have someone to pay the bills. My wife won't take that job on. She also does not have a say about what I ride. I put the $2K down on my wide glide and told her I needed a new bike. I built the motor cause I needed to. We have a beautiful home and I don't drink, smoke or take drugs. I ask her if she wants to go with me on runs and she does sometimes. Once a year I take off for a week or two by my self to clear my head and all she asks is that I call home and let her know I'm still alive. But I never ask her permission for anything. If I had to do that it would take the fun and trust out of our marriage. I guess I'm too old fashion to be a new age harley guy.
