These are the last few things I've done lately..it is nice today so I thought I'd share.
Black timing cover, derby off a nighttrain, Jackl 2" tank lift, removed tank badges and I've been using my Kury roll bag which I just love! Holds just enough junk that I've only been considering doing a lick's solo and be done with my luggage. I also threw in a pic of my youngest (he LOVES my bike, the oldest could care less) and my fatso azz...yeah, I'm on a diet.
Bike looks good . Doesn't the roll bag disturb the air , really bad ? I have a Road Ready handlebar bag about the same size as that , and it makes the air so turbulent that it's tough for me to breath while using it . Seriously ! I had to pull over and remove it one day . Very weird experience .
That is weird. I get more buffeting for my helmet but nothing horrible. The pic makes it look taller than it is, it hits me about chest level and redirects air towards my helmet, but I wear a FF so maybe that is why I don't notice as much.
Many times actually. I have the write up saved of where the guy painted his entire engine. I keep going back and forth, on one hand I love the look of the blacked out engines.
On the other...it makes my 09 a bit unique in the only year with the grey blobs. I have thought of putting on the hot toppers in black to contrast it a bit more.
Who knows really. Tweakin' did it with black covers and went to chrome with his 09. I don't want any chrome, although I think that looks the best with the grey cases...

I for one think you should keep the silver cases just as they are. It looks good with the black jugs and denim paint. Also works well with your current scheme of chrome and black.
