I got what will probably be an easy question for someone, and I know im overthinking this. I am doing the wires for an ape install on my fatbob, got the kit from hill country cycles. I am crimping terminal pins onto these wires now to get them plugged into the connectors, but before I do, there is a silver coating on these wires where they are exposed past the inuslation. I stripped a little off of one to check and under the insulation they are the normal copper wire, no silver coating.
My question is do I need to strip these or is the silver coating past the insulation of the wires ok? I assume it is, its the way they came from hill country, but didnt want to get it all together and have nothing working.
well found my own answer, read a article from hot bike online, shows an ape hanger install, the wires are ready for pin terminals. they are "tinned". guess i found my own answer. back to work
