Been thinking about changing my front end and getting 55mm Inverted Forks in place of my 39mm front end.
Problem is, I've really gotten used to riding with the windshield during the colder months (Nov - March) and love the HD Quick Release clamps (shield is on and off in under 10 seconds). Also, real clean when off since there is no hardware left behind! Anyone have any ideas who makes these clamps and if they come in 55mm?
I know HD makes a 49mm version quick release clamp, but am pretty sure that will be too small also.
I realize I'd need to drill a couple of holes in the windshield since I would go from the narrow glide triple trees to the mid glide. Just need to locate some clamps in the correct size.

I hand-made one of these to fix a broken one for my 49mm WideGlide mount. HD won't sell just this piece; they want $34 for a whole clamp. You might see if you could fab one of these that would allow you to clamp around 55mm tube. Might hafta open up the fixed 1/2 of the clamp to fit, too. Lotta work, but I doubt you'll find a ready-made clamp for what you're thinking.

Yeah, you're probably right. Just hoping there is something out there.
BTW, beautiful work making the replacement part.
