I just bought an '07 Street Bob, the bike was a repo so I wasn't able to get much info about it. It has V&H Side Shots on it and a K&N Air Filter. When I got it, it decell popped quite a bit. I searched and noticed it didn't have any type of fuel management on it so I bought a V&H Fuel Pac and installed it ***-U-MEing it had standard baffles. The bike runs 95% better but I got to thinking, I think it may have quiet baffles on it because it's not as obnoxious as my 06 Sporty with Cycle Shacks. If that's the case I need to reprogram my Fuel Pak until I can buy some standard baffles. Now onto the question, how can I tell what baffles it has? Keep in mind I'm only semi-mechanically inclined.
I looked up the quiet baffles #21301 that would be the ones for the sideshots. If the pictures shown when I do a search are correct you should not be able to see all the way up the pipe. The standard baffle should be a cheese grater type that is hollow all the way through. Maybe someone who has a set will verify this.
tidabo and nick are right on though. If you can't see through them, and they look like a cheese grater they're standard.
I have straightshots on mine and mistook the standard baffles for no baffles, and programmed the fuelpak for no baffle. No popping and the bike runs great.
I spoke with Jamie at Motofuel yesterday on the same topic regarding a PCV and V&H Baffles. I asked if I went from standards to quiets would I have to remap, he answered, "Generally Not"
