Got the new to me 09 Superglide out for it's test ride and back in the driveway without crashing. Although I was a little late on the clutch and stalled it as I came to a stop. Hmmm, now I can't seem to find Neutral, I've run up amd down the gears, no Joy?
YES, FIRST ... ALL THE WAY DOWN, THEN GENTLY lightly rock it up slowly with your toe until you find it turn to accessory so u can see the light , slightly apply a littler forward rolling pressure . as well. then take it and get it adjusted. make sure u are getting full pull from the clutch cable as well
I've always found it easier to catch neutral on a Harley while the bike is still rolling. Need to be careful doing this on the streets, but in your driveway there shouldn't be any risk.
As said, make sure everything is properly adjusted. My 07 nicks neutral without a problem while my gf's 2000 Lowrider can be a bitch. Need to double check all the clutch adjustments - if the clutch isn't fully releasing not only is neutral hard to find, the bike will shift hard.
I've had a similar problem with my 07 Lowrider. I just figure Operator Error. Hell I bet none of us can't do anything right or wrong that hasn't been done before by someone on this forum.
Thats not an embarrassment. My 09 had a very touchy neutral at first. You'll learn the touch as it sounds like you may have already. Its very easy to pass right on by it for some reason (possibly stated above).
