I have a 2009 fatbob! I am looking for a cam set to give me more low end to mid range power. I also want to have the nice lope to the bike at idle like my fellow guys I ride with but they have 88's! Can anyone give me any advice as to what cams I should go with also gear drive or chain drive??
A lot of factors come in when picking cams. http://www.harley-riders-guide.com/h...dson-cams.html You should read this. Low to mid would be the Andrews 26's area. Checkout the Woods TW-5-6 also. No reason for gears the newer style chains are good.
If you want to stay HD some like the SE 255 in a basically stock 96. A bolt in cam with low down TQ. Drops off too soon for others in the higher rpms. There all a lot of them on sell so the price is reasonable.
Thanks for the input. I did know that it would never lope like a carb motor but It deffinatley do not want the bike not to idle like stock. Other freinds have told me just to get the S&S 106 kit and do it all at one time along with porting and flowing the heads, but at the same time others have said that it is really not needed and to just cam it. The bike already has the SE tuner, heavy breather and exhast.
Thanks any more info would be greatly appreciated..
