Yesterday a guy was coming to work and apparently had a diabetic seizure and crashed through the facility. In the process he hit my Wide Glide. Right now the damage is just the exhaust is bent, a few dents in the tank, and scratches along the fenders. He clipped the front tire knocking it over, so i dont know if any damage is done to that or not. I rode it slowly home from work last night and it ran like crap, but rode smooth. So we will see. What sucks is the weather is just turning beautiful and is the great time to ride. Knowing the Moco and insurance companies, I will be without for a month at least. Talk about the luck huh? The guys road king beside me came out ok, just a bent fork air deflector. so $100 bucks of chrome and he is good.
Ouch! That sucks man. I hope you get it fixed and back out there quickly. The weather here just turned nice and if something happened to my bike right now, I'd be POed.
No, but we got plenty of pics of the accident. They are still trying to work on proof that it was him. Nobody saw him hit the bike. But it all happened in a 5 minute window and he came from that way. So its quite obvious i hope. Doing all i can to prove that anyway.
Make a police report...the guy will deny it. Check his vehicle for paint or scratches and take lots of digital high resolution photos. See if you can locate a witness and try to find out from the police if he has a resteicted license because of his medical condition...also see if you can get a copy of his driving record. You may have not been the first person he has hit.
I just had a douchebag hit my kids car in a parking lot...leave the scene and now after paying $950 in damage to our car his rental car company sends me a bill for almost $4,000. The guy is some puke lawyer from GA. I told the rental company to go F themselves.
BTW, I feel your pain...had some bluehair knock over my bike years ago and 20 people watched her drive away at a shopping mall. They said she was like 90 years old and didn't even know she hit it.
Luckily the LEO on his Harley was already there taking the report on the guy smashing into the plant, so he took the report on my bike to. And supported the theory that it had to be hit pretty to hard to do what it did. So the police report is done, now i am waiting to get the report out and notify his insurance and get the bike taken to the shop. Lets hope this goes smooth!
