Having just been able to put a few miles on my new FDX, and being out on a really windy day, I realize I need a windshield - I'm not 24 anymore. Glancing through my local Cycle Gear brochure, I see they have a National Cycle "deflector screen" for a hundred bucks. Do I really need to go to my local HD dealer and spend 300 for something that looks pretty darned similar? Thoughts, please!

National Cycles "Street Shield Ex" is what I run on my super glide. I'm not 24 anymore either, pushin 57 here!! The street Shield's big enough to stop bugs and the wind, yet small enough to look stylish I think. The one I have has the bottom few inches tinted black too.. Cheap price for a good product and easy to take off if you want to run without it..

I'll stick with my Harley one... There was a post on here a while back about windsheilds and which ones protected better and such... Well my Harley one may have some rock spots but they didnt shatter and my face is still here... I would look for a used HD one if it were me...

Also a rolled up blanket for trips fits right between the windsheild and the risers... Nice feature...

I'v got a National regular, something-or-other ( about like a Harley compact) and have had it since 02 and still doing fine. When I need a new shield I just take mine apart and take the shield to Regal Plastics and have them duplicate it, including the mount holes, and put it back together. I believe I've gotten my money's worth.
