Help, wierd vibration at certain engine speed.
I was just wondering if your bike runs really rich will this cause it to vibrate alot more than normal in a certain rpm range, mainly the lower range. I took it out for a spin and going at a certain lower rpm it vibrated realy bad until I got it up a faster rpm range then it smoths out. I put the bike in nuetral while cruzin down the road and reved the engine up. same thing. It is an 06 bob. I know that he has on it Vance and hines shortshots and a AC Kit with the PCIII in it but he still has the 8deg injectors in and from what I have read at PC site the program I think he has is the one they upgraded to match the 25 deg. injectors and the site says that until you have this changed it will run rich. So I was wondering if it running rich would maybe cause this. I was thinking that if the cyl. are loading up on the lower load side of the RPM range that maybe this could cause some pre-ignition or maybe post-ignition, not sure that is why I am asking any of you for help. My buddy is just learning about engines and I am new at being a Harley owner myself.

If it sounds like something loose that is vibrating, check your front fender. 06 bob front fenders have been cracking at the lower left rivet. As the crack grows, so does the noise. Mine did at 7,000 miles and others have cracked at different miles. Mine is being replaced under warranty.

The bike run lean in those rpm: s.
The setup is so from from factory and even in the stage 1 calibrations.
This makes the engine to run rough.
A tuning (SERT or similar) will make wonder.
Been there. Done that.

I thank you for the ideas, and I know that he is getting the 25 deg injectors, but as of right now he has vance and hines exhaust, i think the S/E A/C kit stage 1 and a power commander set to the map they have on the website for his setup and this is what it is doing. As I was riding it the vibrations at lower rpm's were enough to dam near make your legs go to sleep. It was a very fast vibration and as you went higher in the rpm's it went away. I pulled in the clutch and revved up the engine to the where it was having the problem under load and still it did it, but with the clutch in and at idle cruzin down the highway it went away. So if I down shifted so the rpm's were in a higher range then it seemed to be fine. Wierd if you ask me. I jsut pray for him that it is just that it (the Power commander map) is set up for 25deg injectors and he currently has the 8deg. that is causing it to run real rich and this is why under low rpm the unused fuel is causing some real havic on the motor. I told him not to drive it and have the 25deg put it in and well I just found out that this is happening on Tuesday. I just have been worried for him about this and was wondering what you all thought about it.

Front fender cracking, now that is a new one for me, but I will check on it. Anyone else have any ideas?

also check your motormounts just did here yesterday the 2 bolts that go thru the front rubber were loose.no differnce in handling just decided tio put a wrench on a few bolts and found em both loose

Mine was vibrating and making a clunking noise on bumps, I took it into dealer and my rear motor mount was loose according to them. May be worth checkign that as well.!
