New Battery Overpriced

My local dealer told me a new battery will cost me $140. Can you believe that? I'm madder than a fat guy with little arms trying to wipe his ***-crack,

Get a DEKA, Manufactured by East Penn.... it's the HD Battery in Civies. Should be a hundred or less. http://www.eastpenn-deka.com/

I was going to go down this route myself. I sent the local dealer about an hour away an email to make sure he had one and he would be there. It was going to cost me $87 out the door. I got there and the place was locked up tight. Pissed me off royally. Had to suck it up and drop the $125 for HD battery this morning. Batteries are real hard to come by in my neck of the woods lately. Every dealer has been out of them. HD has them on backorder. My bike was bought new in October of 2004 and still has the original battery in it. I hope this new one lasts as long.

I can't see why they want so much, the factory HD one is $115. But I recommend going with the Deka, same thing without the HD name.

But let me ask.... is it the Deka XL16 or 20 or something, I can't recall ? Is that the model?

Which Deka battery is it exactly? I need a new battery, so I gotta get some more info. on it. Anwyay to save money is a good thing.
