well seein how a majority of Interesections are on timers, and few controlled by motion sensors, i'd say you wasted your time.
Ive read of European countries with lights using motion sensors and being controlled with some " FOB" like gadgets to change them, but in the states, most are controlled on timers, and controlls dependant on rush hour traffic.
Many of the lights where I'm at have plate sensors underneath the concrete. the problem is they aren't calibrated to the weight of a motorcycle.
This is what the magnet is for, its supposed to help trigger these types of lights.
Wouldn't placing magnets on your bike attract cages? You could be going down the highway with a dozen cages behind you because of those strong magnets... Better be safe and leave those magnets to the professionals. Seriously, I'm sure you can put one on your oil filter and grab all the ferrous metal in your oil and trip the sensors.

I work on signals for a living, loops in the road work by magnetic field and when that field is broken the call goes in to the controller. In my city we use video detection, If you see cameras pointing at you when you pull up to the stop bar make sure you are in the middle of the lane so the camera sees you. Also dont get impatient if the light does not cycle right away, allot of main roads have a coordination plans active to keep traffic flowing. The down side is side street traffic has to wait for the green.
