got me wondering about mine now thats why i wanted to change it while i was in there i have been having some very intermiten cut outs and the bike has 42,000 miles on it but iam working on hopefully tracking that down using the race tuner i hope.
I'd definitely take a look at that filter. The amount of rust that encrusted mine just blew me away, as the bike is only 2yrs old.
BINGO SClonghair that is what iam talking about and has me really wondering how the hell do they complete a service as i guarantee you if i took my bike in to one of those dealers for a 20k service they would tell me that they could do it that day or the next and have me out in cpl hours with a complete check up but hmmmmmmmm where did they get the filter that is listed to be replaced during that check up????
He said they could probably ups it and you'd have it in a day or so. Rock on, Mike.
Glad you found one, Vic!

Yeah, I can't imagine they are tearing the tank open to inspect the fuel filter let alone replacing it. It's about an hour to tear it open, inspect/change the filter and reassemble everything.
Ok, I want to give some positive feedback to Beach House HD in NC.
I called them yesterday regarding the fuel filter. They had one in stock and I asked if they could ship it. Of course I had to pay for that option.
Well, I get home from wrenchin on my bike and my girl says "did you get your package out front?" Lo and behold it's my fuel filter from Beach House H-D. I know UPS had a hand in that as well but I'm pretty stoked.
I opened the package. There is indeed a fuel filter kit inside but instead of part number 61011-04a (the correct kit for my 2007 WG)...I got p/n: 61001-01 (2000 - 2006 Harley Softail Model).

Yes, I GAVE him the right part number AND told him it was for a 2007 Dyna WG. Damn parts guys...

FYI - That is why for some services I ask to see the parts that were replaced. If they ask, I want to see the "wear, etc." - whatever I need to tell them to see the part(s). Gives me a little bit more confidence that said part(s) were changed during a particular service.
