I need to replace my rear tire on my 09 Street Bob. I've been riding bikes for about 15 years and replaced many tires however replacing the tire on my Dyna has got me all confused. I know I want to either put a 170 or 180 on it and there seems to be only 2 choices for the 180, the Night Dragon or the Screaming Eagle. That seems easy enough. However when it comes to the 170 there are more choices. I don't care what make or what people prefer over another tire. I just want to know what 170 tire will fit on my spoke Dyna wheels and what I need to order. Some say tubeless only and if I do go with a 170 or 180 do I need to buy a new tube and what size tube do I get?

I SAY TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT AND GO WITH THE SCREAMING EAGLE 180... ITS BIGGER AND ITS MEANT FOR THE RIM WIDTH. ALSO IT SEAMS THE FOLLOWING TUBE WILL FIT WITH THE STOCK OR THE 180 TIRE... http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
SO I VENTURE TO SAY THAT YOUR STOCK TUBE WOULD WORK, BUT YOU SHOULD CHANGE IT ANYWAYS AS A NEW TUBE IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN AN OLD TUBE.
My FXDSE came stock with a Dunlap 170/60R17 78H (D407), I got good mileage out of the stock tire (close to 7000 miles), the replacement of the same did not fair as well, only got about 5000 miles out of it.
Just got a great deal off ebay for a new Dunlop D407 170/60R17, $123.46 shipped!
From the sounds of it people who have this tire have been pleased with it, I'll let you know what I think after I get it on.
