Okay, I've searched the threads looking already..Couldn't find anyone with a Windvest on their Dyna Lowrider. My Dyna is a 2009 stock lowrider. I just bought a used Windvest that was on a 2006 soft tail. The mounting brackets are too small (1 1/4). My husband used a caliper and the forks measure 1 3/8. Windvest Mfg. says they don't make that size. What size are your forks and what size are your mounting brackets? Help...I might have to return this windvest!!!!
I meant to say risers...I know you don't know what I meant to say just what I said..with that out of the way. There is no way that this windvest will attach to my handlebars, unless a part is missing. If the clap was larger it would fit my risers. This windvest came off an 03 Soft tail with buffalo Tbars (I think that is what she said) and yes it fit on her handlebars. Is there anywhere I can look to see what the mounting system looks like. How many pieces does it have. I have a cross bar and clamps. That is it. When I put the clamps on the crossbar, they do not swivel, so they will not fit on the handlebars. I am going nuts...this cannot be.
You can buy some 1 1/2 inch mounts and put some rubber on the inside to make them fit snug. I did this with the windvest I bought. It came with the 1 1/2 mounts and I had it installed on my 1 1/4 bars. The rubber also protected the bars from getting scratched as well.
Another option is to replace your risers with 1 1/4 risers (maybe cheaper as the Windvest mounts are high) or buy some 1 1/4 Spacers from spacer Jim and raise your bars a little and mount it to the spacers.
