Mine are on the HD relocation kit. Looks like sh*t. I'm gonna do mine the way Tommays are soon as I can catch the time to fool with it.

Yeah Tommay you got the hot set up, i like it. Mine are the HD brand and they do stick out a bit too much
Kinda looks like a goofy bug or something. I think the hardest part of the whole install was the factory plug
pin removal, PAIN in the butt!

I bought the relocation kit , and cut down the moco stalks.

I was thinking that the HD ones could be chopped, no reason not to do it now. Mine are on the bike at the moment.
Any suggestions or tips on doing this mod?
Could you post a few close-up pics?

I tried chopping the HD relo kit. The prob is, the end of the stalks have a shoulder around the bolt hole. You put a bolt through them and tighten it into the bullet turn signal. Once you chop the end off the stalk, there is nothing to hold the bolt head inside the stalk. Hard to explain. So, I took a washer and welded it inside the stalk so the bolt would have something to hold against. The next prob is that the bullets are rounded, so you have to angle the cut on the stalks or your signals will point outwards. It is almost impossible to match the profile of the signals to the stalks. No matter how good of a cut, there will be a gap. I tried making some rubber spacers to fill the gap.... in the end, it looked okay, but okay wasn't good enough. I bought some new mounts from Custom Cycle Engineering. They are pricey, but they are a nice item. You will need 49mm ones.

I took my time, about 1 1/2 on each mount, they are almost identical,
What i done was taped them up. with masking tape , made a cut out in the shape of the bullets with card board and transfered the image. Then I cut with a dremel tool to roughly the cured shape needed. i took a 1/4 " barrell drum sanding bit and coped out slowly the in side to acommidate the bullet,
To make a support for the bolt to mount, i bought 2 1 1/2 x 5/16 fine thread grade 8 allen head bolts at the hardware store..
The inside being tapered i took 2 5/16's washers , one for each , and dremeled them to the shape to accomidate, the bolt centered the bullets on the mounts, sealed the small gaps with clear rtv rewired with heat shrink and done deal. Yea , i guess i could spent more money on different mounts, But , i'm a cheap F*&k , and not afraid to try and work it out first, not hard at all , take your time , My buds like em but to lazy to try it.. good luck.. (WTF was the MoCo, thinkin with those long stalks anyway?)
