A blown fuse -most of the time- indicates to a short-cut. You can use a multi-meter to check this out.

Could be a punctured wire.

Have you been working in the handlebar wiring lately?

If yes, my advise would be to check if the wiring on the left hand side switch housing is running into the dimples of the handlebar...

Otherwise check the if the harness wires in the headlight housing and under the seat are running free.

my guess would be youve rattled a ground wire loose

on second thought I agree with FXDRider - would make more sense to be a short than a ground

The Ground wire for the Head lights are located right off the rear portion of the fork.
Here is a pic of mine.

Now Mind you, that line isnt directly affixed to the headlight, but its a frame to handle bar ground and if this one is cut, torn or messed up, that will cause shorts.

I have often seen bulb filaments kinda melt and fuse together. Might sound crazy but see if your hi and low beam filaments are touching.

i know when checking some stuff for my brake lights i caused a short and it blew out my fuse, the headlight and tail light no longer worked, checking the tail light wiring might not be a bad idea either, if there is a short on the tail light it will cause the headlight fuse to blow
